Stopped by here on a cool Sunday. There was a good crowd but not packed. Walked across the walkway to the beach. The park has nice trails and is very wooded as well as having the nice beach. On a nicer day we will picnic here.

This is one of my favorite parks in the city. The park is huge. There are tons of trails, including one that runs down along a creek. There are signs about the salmon runs, but I haven't actually seen any yet. We have seen other wildlife, though! My husband actually had a massive coyote walk right in front of him.... More

Every time I come to Seattle, I love to go and walk at Carkeek Park. There are numerous paths beyond the main path that starts from behind the QFC on Holman street and leads to the waterfront. The main path is hilly only at the beginning, behind the QFC and then levels out pretty well all the way to the... More

There are well maintained trails here to walk or jog or explore, you can read and relax at the beach on a log or at a picnic table, hear birds of prey overhead or see and definitely hear the crow mafia as they scrutinize you up and down for what you might have for them. You could see a heron... More

Take the dog and enjoy hiking up the hills through the woods, or enjoy a picnic near the beach. Popular local park.

There are probably only a few places where you can stand on a beach and see trains pass right in front of you or stand on a bridge and see them pass beneath you. This park has picnic areas (with shade) that can accommodate large groups. The beach is reached by walking over a train bridge or on a short... More

Our kids of grown up at Carkeek Park. Parking can be a challenge on a warm sunny weekend, but well worth it! Lots of open area and picnic benches. Walk over the trestle bridge down to the beach or better yet, stand on the trestle as the train goes by! You can reserve tables in the picnic areas through the... More

Great place to have a secluded walk since it really is one of Seattle's best kept secret parks. Take a walk here or access the beach. Several miles of loops trails and hills for a great workout. Rainforesty feel too.

OMG - Do you want a boost of GORGEOUS? Take a hike!!! This is a series of short trails and I suggest you to start with the longest (Piper Creek - NW 100TH PL) and then find the rest. You'll love this one. We did almost 4 miles and some of us wanted to do it twice for more workout,... More
