Okay, yes, I do use Amazon, often, but there is still a deep seated pleasure in a real book, something you can mark-up, dog-ear, and fall asleep with it over your face. Elliott Bay is one of the few surviving book shops in Seattle, offering a good range of excellent books, and the help of well-read people. Yah for old... More

Well organized, clean, bright, and helpful staff, what more can one ask for in a book store? A great coffee shop! The Elliott Bay Book Company is a great place to spend and afternoon looking at books and drinking coffee at The Little Oddfellows cafe.

Fantastic independent book store. They are centrally located on Capitol Hill and easy to find. The selection of books is great...and yes you might pay a little more than online shopping but it's worth it.

I walked about 30 min east from the pike market to this store and I'm still in love! Every person who likes books will love this place. Never saw such a well organized, variegated and sweet bookstore. Even the atmosphere is special. You can sit a a small cafe in the store and just start reading your new books. All... More

If you're into bookstore porn, this place is totally for you. Lots of staff picks, friendly, cosy, found a great book of essays and could have spent much more tie, easily. Recommended

Elliott Bay Book Company has been reviewed positively many times, and all the positive reviews are well-deserved because it is a great place to find books. Unlike stores like B&N's in Seattle, Elliott Bay has its books on display in a wonderfully open space and a space that has lots of places to sit down to sample a book--really comfy... More

Easily one of the largest bookstores I've been in. (except The Strand in NYC, obviously). If I lived here, I'd be a frequent visitor. Great selection of books and lots of seating! They had a great selection of games too, which I love to seeing in bookstores, and lots of really unique ones.

If you like book stores, you will love this one. There is a large selection of books (it's not Powells but still very good). There is a coffee shop in the store and lots of chairs. A great place to browse, read and relax.
