- Victoria NGateshead, United Kingdom3,215 contributionsExcellent!I visited for the first time in February 2023 and really enjoyed it, one of the best places I visited in Seattle. I actually used public transport which stopped right outside the zoo. There is a lot to see, and I really enjoyed the exotic bird house and gorillas, a really great day out.Visited February 2023Written 23 April 2023
- Laura WDenver, Colorado41 contributionsGood zooVery good zoo. I love that the exhibits are set up so you can see the animals up close. A lot of the animals were out and moving around. A lot of the enclosures are set up to where if you don’t see them in one spot you may see them in another spot. The gift shop prices are on par with other zoos. Would recommend this zoo. I do love with the signage it shows you pictures of a few animals so you can easily tell if you’ve seen that section already.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 October 2023
- dustythoughtsManchester, Connecticut2,128 contributionsFun, educational experienceReally enjoyable, pleasant zoo that clearly takes good care of the animals that live there. The living areas are spacious and have plenty of shade (there's also shade for the human visitors), and there are benches liberally spread out across the entire zoo. They provide interesting information on all of the animals, and they make a very clear effort at conservation and education. They have animals from around the world. I could've spent all day here and still not seen everything.Visited November 2022Travelled soloWritten 7 October 2023
- funsville53 contributionsGreat way to spend some Seattle timeNice neighborhood zoo. Volunteers all over the place to answer questions. In fact it seemed at almost every habitat there was a volunteer (and it was a cold day). The way they have the viewing spaces, sometimes you feel like you can really connect with the animals. I thought the gorillas, tapirs and giraffes seemed particularly accessible. It's easy to get around, the park surrounding the zoo is beautiful, and it's situated in a lovely, residential area that's easy to get to. Lots of cool things to see. If I lived in the city, there is no question I would have a membership so that I could go whenever I wanted. And I would want to a lot! I was there probably just shy of 4 hours and there was still stuff left to see. But it's quite manageable and the layout is very user-friendly.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 March 2024

There is lots to do and see. Just about any animal you can think about is housed in the zoo plus insects. Very well spaced out exhibits. Structured to be very kid friendly. A great way to spend time.

Went on a very cold January day, which kept some animals inside but we were delighted to get long - and basically alone - views of the snow leopard. The red pandas were out and active, and surprisingly we got brief views of the jaguar, sloth bears and even a ring-tailed lemur, all of whom are not so fond of the cold.
We also ate in the on-site restaurant, which was of very high standard and reasonably priced (as zoos go).

Even for late fall the staff was wonderful and
helpful, plus the wild life.
They had the lights at the woodland park zoo up and they were getting ready for after
Veterans day.
Have taken my family there for 10 years or so and as a Canadian the price was great.
Most Canadians think because our dalloar being so weak thats it way more expensive, but in reality the cost to do this is cheaper in Woodland park zoo than the zoo in Abbotsford in BC.
I costed, 7 adults cost myself $107 USD converted was $137 CND. Thats not bad at all.

Nice walkable zoo. Like at any zoo, some animal exhibits, others were closed. But overall a great experience. Easily accessible by bus from downtown.

It was a nice get away “from our daily routine” for a day. We hadn’t been to the zoo for quite a few years and it was fun to get reacquainted with it and see the changes that were made. It looked like a great place for young families to stroll with their young children.

Everything looked the same: overgrown and over-decorated. You couldn't see the animals. Will not return.

The zoo is very pretty. It has lots of trees and plenty of shade. Great exhibits. My only complaint was some of the animals were not visible. And I thought the price was on the pricier side but overall a great zoo.

Is there re-entry to the zoo? For example, if we parked (and entered) at the West entrance, can we leave the zoo at the south entrance and visit the Rose Gardens and the re-enter at the South entrance to continue through the zoo back up to the West entrance back to the parking lot?

Is it easy for the walking handicap person?
Moving sidewalks or a ride thru the zoo?

The park should be easy for someone with a walking disability. There aren't any moving sidewalks, but I believe they have electric wheelchairs to get around.
