We chose to go here because we were avoiding the crowds we had already experienced at other attractions. This conservatory may only take a half hour to look at, but it's nice, inspiring and the conservatory itself is beautiful. It's inside a very nice, huge park with also houses the Seattle Asian Art Museum, the Water Tower with great views... More

The conservatory was gorgeous with orchids and Holiday decorations. The train was running and the engineers were on hand. A pleasant and peaceful diversion after a visit to the Asian Art museum.

This beautiful 1912 Victorian glass conservatory on the grounds of Volunteer Park is one of my favorite places in Seattle. Always light-filled and always something new and spectacular to see since the exhibit in the middle building (it's a complex of several) changes about six times per year. Love the carnivorous plants & cacti in all their glory. Don't forget... More

The building is old-style and adds an overall warm charm to your visit. The displays are top-notch and carefully presented. If you love flowers, plants and touring Conservatories then this is a must see. Also Volunteer Park, where it is situated, is a beautiful spot and very nice to walk through. I enjoyed the statue to Secretary of State Seward... More

We love plants and taking pictures...it was a cool day so the heat was nice anyway. The cacti were fantastic and very photogenic. Worth the small cost to support this wonderful gem...in a great park.

The conservatory is locate on the grounds of a beautiful park, and it houses a beautiful collection of orchids and other tropical plants, as well as seasonal blooms. The Cacti and Succulents display is the best I've ever seen, for number of different types. Each type is labeled. That is very rare, and fabulous for botany and photography enthusiasts! There... This small conservatory has the finest indoor cactus collection I’ve ever seen. The plants were from a large variety of families and well identified. A specially treat was the number that were in bloom. The conservatory has 5 rooms. Each room is independently climate controlled. so in a short time you can go from the desert to the topics. The... One end is the dry plants hall and the the other has the jungle plants - worth the the trip if you're in to plant life. Near the Asian Art Museum. Wonderfully curated. Free, but please leave a donation - it's chronically short of funds. Kids and up will love it.

Volunteer Park is one in a string of charming little parks designed in 1800s Seattle by the (NY Central Park-famous) Olmsted brothers. It's a lovely oasis in the middle of busy, chaotic neighborhoods in the Capitol Hill area of the city. You can visit until 10pm, enjoy the grass- & tree-covered grounds, the dahlia garden & the former water tower,... More
