Love the flower and the fish stands. Didn't get a chance to see them throw fish across the fish stand, but it happens often. Nearby is the original Starbucks with a long lineup. There are a good selection of places to eat or just snack.

Seafood, produce, flowers, crafts, across the street is greek yogurt, the first Starbucks, perotchkys, desserts, the gym wall, and more! The flowers are breathtaking and cheap! Watch them throw the fish and other seafood back and forth to each other. I think they do it when anyone makes a purchase and/or on the hour (that's what I'm guessing as we... More

While staying in Port Townsend, we took a day trip to Seattle. Spent a few hours in Pike Place Market. What a great time. The foods to try and maybe buy are overwhelming. Fish getting thrown is one of the favorite spots for tourists to see. Across the walkway was a vendor selling every type of the dried fruit imaginable.... More

The oddity and quaintness of many shops here plus the fresh seafood and farmer's market make it an inevitable place for both tourists and locals. Definitely stop by here.

I was visiting my daughter in Washington for the first time and this was our first stop. Wonderful atmosphere, great fruit stands, huge choice of fish markets, hot apple cider, fresh flowers, and lots of shops! There is also the original Starbucks but we didn't stop by because the line was very, very long. This place is great for anyone... More

I'll start out by saying my opinion is biased because I lived in Indonesia for a year so I've seen some incredible markets BUT they tried!! The Pike market is cool and has a lot of good products! Pretty pricey and non-haggle-able but I loved it. I bought a few paintings and some dried fruit. HOWEVER the fresh fruit and... More

The market has just about everything one could want. Fish mongers, restaurants, fresh veggies, coffee, beautiful flowers, etc. I wish we had something like this in our city (Norfolk). The first Starbucks is located by here as well.

You have to try this at least once! I lived in the Seattle area for many years and I truly miss the waterfront, Pike Place Market and the fun experience of it all! It gets croweded at times but is worth it. Love, love this place. The variety of shops and crafts are truly unique.

In the context of a historic marketplace offering merchants and fishermen a place to sell products coming from ships on Puget Sounds, it's very cool. It is located in a sketchy areas, though. Also the fish mongers that throw the fish are throwing pieces of fish (based on what people people buy.) Not as dramatic as seen on TV. Original... More
