Building a d surroundings are nice but actual art or objects are nothing special. May be Eva still needs some practice and gain experience..

Amazing atelier of Eva Ryynänen
Jul 2017 • Family
Close to Lieksa this atelier of a Finnish sculpture artist is a MUST place to see. The area includes three buildings: a church, atelier and a home. The magnificent art work can be seen in all of these buildings. Never seen anything which would impress more. What a wonderful place with this unique art work. Every piece has uniqueness in terms of idea, feelings or impressions.

Beatiful art of wood
Jul 2017 • Family
Cafe shop has magnificent wooden atmosphere (lunch only by pre-order, but coffee/tea and bakery things available). Nice atelier and home of artist. Church has even altarpiece made of wood :)

Stunning Sculptural Church
Jul 2017 • Family
Paateri is a must see. Eva Rynaanen's work is sublime and the church is simply stunning. From the setting, to the detail of the sculptural work, you will not want to miss this if you are a lover of art and architecture.

Amazing
Jul 2016 • Couples
We have now visited Paateri twice and I guess there will be a third time in years to come.
If you like wood and things made of wood then Paateri is a must.
Eeva Ryynänen's workshop and home is there for us all to enjoy. Many of her work pieces are on display but the most stunning of all is the church.
The setting is stunning and the exhibts so interesting and you will constantly find little quirky things such as the old horse shoes set in the concreat on the front porch of her home.

Nice view of the sculptures
Jul 2016 • Couples
It is a bit out of the way, but the carvings are lovely. We had known nothing of this artist, but enjoyed learning about her, seeing her home and the church was special. Love the benches!

Something you will not see anywhere else
Jun 2016 • Couples
The Ryynänen couple was living and working at Paateri.
Later, after they died, the place was transferred to be a museum of their lives and work.

Eeva Ryynänen created very unique sculptures, carved from just one log (in the working area you will see how those logs were..).
The church is one of it's kind in the world.

Nice place to visit, if you are in the area.

There is a cafe and souvenir shop and they have multi lingual guides.

Been here couple of times. When i was a child and later on life. Small place, but intresting art to look at, specially the church floors and the church itself.
