Love glaciers and this is spectacular. We could watch this glacier for hours. Wonderfully scenic and utterly beautiful.

Worthwhile to see this - our Kenai Fjords Tour boat took us very close. Everyone should see this and learn a bit about how glaciers work.

We experienced Holgate Glacier as part of our 6 hour Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise out of Seward. This was the best calving glacier we saw on our Alaskan trip. To see glaciers out of the Kenai Peninsula, you will need to take at least a 6 hr. fjords tour. Along with seeing orcas and humpbacks, seals, eagles, puffins and... More

Took one of the tour boats from Seward. Saw whales, otters, porpoises, bears, sea lions. Puffins, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, the list is endless..

Travelled here as part of a Kenai Fjords cruise which in turn was part of a camping trip I was on in Alaska. Absolutely worth it. The glacier is a real thing of natural beauty. We saw parts of the glacier fall off and it was amazing to see a river streaming out from the middle. Incredible environment to be... More

The Holgate Glacier was the destination of our 6 hour Kenai Fjords boat tour and although for some the ride was long, cold or rough, the views of the HG were worth it. The Holgate is an example of a tidewater glacier in that it calves into the sea. Approaching it by boat is the best way to see this... More

Getting to see a glacier up close, and to hear the rush of water from the river running below it, was amazing. The blues are incredible.

We visited the Holgate Glacier as part of a whale watching trip. It is a long way to go but the scenery on the way was stunning as the fog had lifted enough to see it! The glacier cracked thunderously and calved several times while we watched it. The running water gushing from the bottom was incredible to see. It... More

The shear size and color of the glacier amazed me! Then when the boat captian shut off the engine, the noises the glacier made were incredible. Sounds from deep in the ice! The time we were there it calved many times. Well worth it!

The glacier is absolutely beautiful. It is approached by boat and kayaks. The sights and sounds of the glacier are breathtaking! Tour boats can be booked from Seward.
