Absolutely incredible! We visited on a rainy day and the glacier glows even more blue! It was the best experience! Put it on your bucket list! :)
went on a half day boat excursion to Holgate Glacier - saw lots of wildlife; bald eagles, sea lions, whales, sea otters, jumping salmon, tons of gulls, etc. But the Holgate Glacier is the star attraction - so blue and with the water rushing out...More
On the day we did this excursion, we had 8-9 foot waves. The Captain ignored the fact that 80-90% of his passengers were sick. The 6 hour tour was on ordeal for many (particularly those prone to sea-sickness). Saw many whales, some puffins, some sea...More

This is one of two glaciers we visited on a Major Marine Tour. We were fortunate to see minor calving of this glacier. Beautiful sight.

looked great-- bluish on a cold cloudy rainy day. sad to hear how much it has calved! saw on 6hr cruise
If you take a inlet water cruise make sure that it takes you out to see this glacier it is spectacular and well worth the money. Also saw numerous marine wildlife.

The tour I went on with Kenai Fjords stopped at this glacier. It was so quite there it was a little weird. When parts of the ice would break off it sounded so loud, even when it crashed into the water. It was almost like...More
