Visited as part of a weeks walking. The atmosphere in the village was quite. The shops whilst trying to make a living were not pushy. Lovely views and old buildings.

Hum is about 1,5h driving distance from Crikvenica. Already the road to Hum is very nice. You'll pass 4,6km long tunnel, twice. Toll road costs €8,08/60 kuna. We took the smallest possible road leading to Hum. 70-80 years ago there were 3 schools in Hum, Croatian, German and Italian. They used to have police department, ambulance service. Nowadays there are... More

27 people in the town with incredible views- worth stopping by- even for a night! Sobre Dores is a cozy little apartment owned by a local family if you want to stay the night- this is where we stayed!

I had read about this "smallest town" online while doing travel research for our trip, but it never made it on our formal agenda. So, driving through Istria, we came upon the road sign and I convinced my husband and the other couple with us to take the twisty, turny drive up to medieval Hum. Turns out, it was one... More

Very small, old cute town. There are also amazing views of the surrounding hills. They have perhaps too many shops (about 5 I would guess) for such a small town, but there were fairly low key and each was very generous in giving out free samples. The town touts itself for its local Mistletoe brandy, which we enjoyed. It is... More

Put some good time aside to wander the narrow streets of this charming historical gem. Browse in the shops and, if you are not on a walking holiday (we were!) buy local produce. There is a lady at the entrance to the town deep frying local doughnuts - eat at least one of these!

We didn't plan to visit Hum, but for sure feel happy we finally decided to go. It is a unique experience, everything looks like time stopped a long time ago. A great experience in the world's smallest city! Also, I would recommend entering the little shop. It gives you a chance to buy and taste local alcohol (teranino) which is... More
