Found this on TripAdvisor and were delighted we did. Stopped here on the way home from Hallstatt. It sounded quite pricey but the views from the gondola and on top were definitely worth it! Panoramic snow-capped peaks and stunning views of the lake below. We threw snowballs at each other and had a great time at the top. Well worth... More

We went up the cable car on New Year's Day. Unfortunately in winter you can not book single ticket so it was pricey - €150 for 2 adults and 4 children. We wanted to walk down the mountain which we did. Expensive day out but worth it for the magnificent views

Please note, this brilliant facility, giving access to wonderful views from the Zwoelferhorn mountain is closed from autumn 2016 to late spring 2017, basically whilst the 60-year-old structure is replaced. It's a major tourist feature in Sankt Gilgen, so possible worth planning a visit for when it is back in action.

We stumbled upon this funicular which takes you up 1600 m. We made sure the sky was clear so there would be good views at the top. Did not disappoint. Even made a snowman. We wanted to catch the ferry to St Wolfgang but it was not open till 26th Dec where there is a special Xmas lights on the... More

Incredible experience. Was cloudy and grey below and brilliantly sunny on top. Price was 24 Euro per person round trip. Small restaurant in the cable car building was adequate for a nice lunch and drinks - serving local Austrian specialties like soupe with cheese dumplings. Also we attended the Advent markets in St Gilpin that afternoon and took a boat... More

The cable car takes you to the most incredible views I have seen for a long time. We felt it was quite expensive when we bought the tickets but all agreed afterwards that it was well worth the €24.50 each.

Great, if the weather is good, and we were very lucky. Worth the price of the tram ride. It is a beautiful ride up and lots of trails to walk around, restaurant up on top we did not eat, but the food looked and smelled great.
