Lots of buildings and a kids playground
Jul 2018 • Family
For families this it a neat spot. There is just enough information on the posted signs to give you a sense of life in this bronze or iron age village. Examples of their industry and products are exhibited in the buildings - some are dwellings, others artisan workshops. The playground can drain some of the excess energy of active small fry while parents examine the village.

Good with the salt mine
Jul 2016 • Family
We visited the salt mine there and afterwords we visited the Celtic Village. I don't think I would go there as a standalone attraction but as a side attraction it was very interesting. Not time-consuming and I had a great park right in the village that her kids love to plan. We have kids age 18 to 4 years old and they all played and enjoy themselves.

The original salt diggers in the mountains
Sep 2015
After visiting the Keltenmuseum in Hallein a few years ago, we finally hit pay dirt , with the Keltendorf in Durrnberg. What a feeling walking today, where 2000 years the kelts lived and dug for salt. They had houses , made pottery, wooden and metallic objects and harvested the salt.Trading made them rich and they prospered. The village represents living with the Kelts, a possibility to go underground (I am claustrophobic and cannot talk about that experience)All in all, a visit well worth it .

Interesting, small
Jul 2015 • Couples
Interesting recreated buildings in the salt industry. Allow a few minutes after the salt mine tour. Not many buses on weekends so don't get stranded!
