This beautiful monument has been decimated. Poor Lee. Who knows where he went. Took his statue, but didn't change the name. It was originally Tivoli Circle.

Really nothing special about this circle (unless you are there during Mardi Gras a number of parades pass by this location). It looks abandoned and is in a questionable area at night with homeless people sleeping nearby.

New Orleans has a variety of interesting visiting sites. Hop on one of your touring busses and see the city.

Because of the removal of the statue of Rober E. Lee, this was a sad looking circle. Homeless people were on the steps ALL day and night - keeping us from enjoying it. Still angry about erasing HISTORY!

Growing up it was quite a site to see going into town. It did not remind me of slavery or intolerance. It stood as a memorial for what happens when a country divides and fights against itself. Sadly, right now, USA appears to be as divided as it was in the Civil War. We have a political civil war and it is not good for the country no matter what side you are on. The memorial is worth seeing. The fact that the statue is taken down even makes the point more than leaving it up. So Sad!!…
