The Magazine Street Food tour was great. All the food was delicious and Roger provided very interesting and entertaining commentary. Group size of 8 was perfect. We had great food and it gave us an opportunity to see a fun part of NOLA that we probably would not have gone to.

We had a fabulous tour with BJ. We knew that we would be eating a lot, so we disciplined ourselves with a very modest breakfast, and even then, we were already perfectly satisfied after the second stop. By the time we were done, we were stuffed to the gills with new and interesting food that we would not have discovered on our own (which we understood was a big motivation in putting this tour together). It happened that on this particular day, we were the only two on the tour, but we got the sense that even when there are full tours, the experience is customizable to some degree. It's probably not the best choice if you are gluten free or vegan (as mentioned in the tour description), but the tour operators do make a sincere effort to learn your food preferences and make adjustments along the way. The restaurant choices are generally set by the time you start on the tour, and the operator has an idea of what he's planning on feeding you, but again, they knows the menu well enough that they can customize to your preferences. The nicest thing is that you really just have to show up and walk from stop to stop (which BJ was kind enough to take at our pace, as one of us is mobility impaired and had to stop frequently to rest). He pre-orders before you go to the next stop and takes care of all the billing, so it's quite seamless, and you can just bask in the atmosphere of different places and enjoy the history and tidbits of information. All the restaurant choices were ones we would not have known about on our own, all had distinct and memorable "personalities", and frankly, none of the food choices were ones that we would have instinctively made, but we enjoyed every bite of every dish. The portions were modest enough that we could eat at least a little of each dish, and if you have a huge appetite, I still believe that you would be completely sated by the time you got to the end. For the rest of us, every restaurant was perfectly fine with providing us with takeout containers to save what we didn't eat. I would advise most people to take the 11:00 tour, if possible, as no human should be eating that much food at 3:00 PM if he has had breakfast and lunch already. If you are the type of person who sleeps until noon and can eat a modest breakfast at 1:00 PM, maybe the 3:00 PM start time works for that. The tour concept is great, but BJ was really the best part about it. He made everything very simple and stress-free for us, he patiently shepherded us from place to place, and didn't even complain when impulse drove us into a couple of interesting stores along the way to browse. He kept up a very steady stream of conversation through an immense array of topics, and my companion felt like he had met his long lost brother at the end of the tour. Thank you, BJ, you made our week!

My wife and I had the pleasure of completing the food tour on magazine St. Roger was our tour guide. He was a blast and super knowledgeable not only about the food but the entire city. The food was served fresh and every bite was delicious. Come hungry because you will be stuffed by the end of the tour. I highly recommend this tour as a "must do" for anyone visiting NOLA!

So glad you enjoyed your Foodie tour with Roger! Our goal is to get you seated at each restaurant right as the food is ready so you have a seamless experience AND fresh, hot (and as you said...delicious!) food. And good advice to come hungry! ;-) Thanks so much! -Angela

BJ was an amazing guide and had so much knowledge and input for our whole trip. He had a great menu for us on the food tour and also suggestions for the remainder of our stay. He even had Tera try a charbroiled oyster. Very personable and funny. Kept us on our toes with lots of laughs. We were disappointed when the food tour ended and would definitely recommend BJ to any future tourists.

You're always in great hands with BJ and I'm glad to hear he persuaded you to try something new! There's something for everyone on this tour, but it certainly helps if you come with an open mind and an empty stomach. We hope to see you back for another tour sometime soon! -Brittawnée
