The bar is on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. There are some tables and also bench seats to sit on to watch the musicians. The jazz played here is much more traditional than in some bars on the street - much more trad jazz....More

My husband and I arrived early and were able to secure seats. We truly enjoyed the house band in this intimate setting. The room was small enough that it allowed the audience to interact with the musicians. This venue is unlike most of the clubs...More

This was one of the first jazz clubs I visited in New Orleans and definitely my favorite. Excellent music, good drinks and very attentive staff. It is small and cozy place and you actually get to sit down and enjoy the music compared to some...More

This bar is always full and has small space. The music is ok, they are rag time jazz band. The wine is not good. But their Hurricane was good. A legend jazz bar.

This is the place I've been looking for for 30 years. Small and intimate, people listen, terrific bands with acoustic instruments and best of all including jazz piano. Staff is very nice also and no cover. I could sit there all night and listen.

Mid evening on a Monday, we walked down to Fritzels, as it was highly recommended by a number of locals. Small bar, with an excellent selection of beers spirits and wines. Friendly helpful chatty bar staff. However, they didn’t serve food, so we enjoyed a...More

We went relatively early arriving just before nine so we're able to get a seat. The band on a Tuesday night were great and performed a mix of their own music and some classics. Very tight and polished performance. Drinks were a disappointment with both...More

This small bar and jazz venue is one of the best places you can stop by in the French Quarter -- as good an experience as Preservation Hall or the clubs on Frenchman Street. The house band is a fantastic set of musicians, and the...More

We visited Fritzels on a hot busy day during Jazz Fest. A very homely place that was a quiet haven on the madness of Bourbon Street, exactly what we needed! A lively Jazz piano player started at 3pm by which time we had indulged in...More

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

There is no cover. I believe you can buy soda or bottled water. Alternatively, make new friends and buy your seat neighbor a drink. Supporting the bar/musicians in this fashion is a small price to pay for such quality... More

It's just a little more intimate of a setting. I wasn't exactly impressed with it. There's a private bar with low lighting and two different rooms.
