Came here for a drink or 2 and stayed hours as they had some great jazz music! Loved the vibe inside the bar once it filled up for the love band. It's only small so get there early if you want a seat. We arrived at 7pm and it was empty but by 740 it was almost full ready for... More

On a recent trip to NOLA, I stopped into this place one night. Preservation Hall's line was crazy long, so I went around the corner to this gem. I grabbed a stool at the bar. No cover. The house band was great. I went back a second time, saw a different band, and was not disappointed.

Walked in at random in the middle of the day. Had spot at the bar, so we went in. Solid drinks - really liked the atmosphere. I imagine it's an awesome spot when live music is going. Would go there again.

We were at the funky pirate next-door to Fritzel's European jazz bar. One of the waitresses Natalie goes by Nat proceeded to get Zane all the non alcoholic drinks that he could handle. She also escorted into the bar so that he can use the restroom when he needed to. And then went above and beyond and clocked out of... More

We chose to spend an evening in this local bar near our hotel. The house band is great. Richard Scott, the pianist, is the must talented piano player we've ever seen. His fingers fly over the keys - a joy to watch and listen to. One drink minimum per person per set. No cover.

While walking around we heard the music and decided to stop for a drink and listen. The Jazz was good however be prepared for very tight quarters. We had wine and it was just average. Definitely a place for Jazz, not drinks.

We loved Fritzels ,Richard Scott is the most amazing pianist I have ever seen! His fingers just fly over the piano keyboad so fast and rythmically it is amazing to watch. We thought this was the most authentic Jazz Music still in Bourbon Street. Thoroughly recommend to people who appreciate great jazz.

Walking by we heard some good jazz playing so we stopped in and had a glass of wine and listened to a set of good jazz music.

Gross drinks!! Gross! Every time we walked by there was no music playing which was a disappointment so we just stuck with grab and go drinks which tasted like generic cough medicine.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
