What a treasure! As per usual with Audubon standards, this place is a gem. There are boardwalk trails as well as natural trails to move about. The visitor center is beautiful with lots of displays, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Mikayla was wonder...More

The surroundings of the new complex of buildings are not nearly as attractive as the old. The old approach was over a lagoon with cypress trees and elsewhere a walk along the lagoon. The new has none of that opportunity to look down on water....More

Staff is very professional, respectful, and, knowledgeable. We had visited this attraction before Hurricane Katrina, and, this was the first week, reopening, after that storm. Yep, twelve years, to allow the area to recover. This was almost ground zero, for that storm. Most of the...More

I second this question. I'm seeing on the website that it is being refurbished after Katrina in one place, and that the "newly rebuilt" building is open in another site.
