From a wedding guest perspective, this was a nice place for a reception. This one was early afternoon, so lots of natural light. We were able to be throughout downstairs but not outside or upstairs by the main collections. The furnishings and decorations are beautiful. The staff was very attentive. Big downside was the physical walls between rooms (older style,... More

The House of Broel is a fantastic location for a wedding. We were thrilled. Bonnie and her staff are exceptional. My bride, myself and all of our guests were treated the best. My bride was pampered and they took care of every detail. The food and service was outstanding. The venue is beautiful. The pictures of the wedding were beautiful.... More

We have a great time touring the museum. The extra money to tour the third floor really worth it. Even our teenagers were impressed and had a good time. This place should definitely be on the list to really experience New Orleans in full.

We chose the House of Broel to renew our vows for our 30th anniversary. Arranging things after only seeing Internet pictures and talking with Bonnie on the phone from Houston was a little nerve-wracking, but I couldn't have made a better selection. I was immediately relieved and comfortable when we got there and so pleased with everything.....Thank you all for... More

My now husband and I planned this as a destination wedding and did most of the planning over the phone. Ms. Broel was easy to contact for planning purposes. We arrived a couple of days prior to the wedding and Ms. Broel took us on a complete tour of the facility including the accompanying museum. She showed us the options... More

My wedding was Oct. 17, 2014. It was great! We had a great time! This is the most romantic place to have a wedding! My family loved it, and are still talking about how beautiful everything was! We had a few behind the scene moments that would have ruined a wedding but no one knew because the service was excellent.... More

My husband and I were looking for a very unique place to hold our wedding ceremony in New Orleans, since he proposed there, it held a special place in our heart. I did lots of research of different places until I came across House of Broel. I loved everything about Bonnie’s immaculate home. Living out of state, we actually had... More

We were provided a tour of the House of Broel. Bonnie Broel serves as an inspiration to all miniaturists out there! Could have easily taken an entire day and still would not be able to fully appreciate each of her houses, vignettes!!

As the school year draws to a close, I have finally had time to sit down and write up a review for House of Broel. First, let me say that Joan and I visited a number of venues before choosing to have our reception here in December 2015, and the other places were quite nice. New Orleans is filled with... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
