Great tour! Dave really knows the history of this amazing town. I really liked the personal insight that we never heard about in history class.

I really enjoyed the Cemeteries walking tour with the Nola Tour Guy. He was really informative, knew a lot about the history of the city and was happy to answer questions at any stage. He also kept it fun and relatable - no dry boring facts or information overload. It was also the perfect length - we covered a fair... More

The NOLA Tour Guy's walking tour of the New Orleans French Quarter and historic cemetery is good if you want to know about the area's history and architecture. I would have loved to hear more about shady characters and colorful events. The two-hour tour was not too strenuous, but my family did it in November when the weather was nice.... More

My tour is billed as a History Tour, which is what I provided. I mention how the pay structure of my tour works at the beginning of the tour because not everyone reads the emails I send out. I drink alot of coffee and get excited about history so sometimes I talk to fast...sorry it's something I am working on. More

Dave's tour is great - it covers a whole load of French Quarter history, both recent and all the way back to the origins of New Orleans. His cemetary knowledge was superb, and I have no hesitation recommending his tour to anyone wanting to learn more about the great city of New Orleans

Wonderful tour with great insights into the history of NOLA. As a history grad. David truly explains the many changes that NOLA has gone through & its impact on the times. The tour of StLouis cemetery was unique & insightful. Tip well! This tour is worth it!'

My wife and I took a tour of the French Quarter and the St. Louis cemetery. Dave was a great tour guide because he was knowledgeable and did not skimp on information. Though he also never droned on so long that he lost his audience. He also speaks clearly and loudly enough for the group to hear. I would certainly... More

David is incredibly knowledgable about the history, geography, lore, logistics and everything else about New Orleans. He took our group of 12 for a walking tour of the French Quarter and did a great job explaining how it all came to be. I especially appreciated his flexibility (comes in handy when you travel as a group of 12!). Definitely recommend... More

Definitely check the weather when booking this. Nola can get hot but we appreciated how he always chose to stop and speak in a shady spot. Very kind and well educated. Definitely a great value for the knowledge he has to share.

I looked around for a lot of tours. One of the things I loved about this tour experience was that he covers a lot of NOLA. We even got to visit the cemetery without any extra charge. He answered all of my questions and I learned a lot!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
