Very friendly staff both times I visited. Didn't buy anything the first time and couldn't stop dreaming about this beautiful yarn so I had to go back and get it. I'm inspired!

This shop has a great selection of both yarn and needlepoint/ cross stitch. I came for the knitting and was not disappointed! Some hand dyed cotton chenille caught my eye and it is on its way to becoming a sweater for my granddaughter. Oh, and they package your purchase beautifully - a special touch. Check out their store branded, hand... More

I giggled with excitement upon entering this shop. It was so adorable! The completed cross-stitch pictures on the wall, the colourful yarn everywhere. I am a cross-stitcher, so I immediately sought out their patterns and kits. These were all (or nearly all) New Orleans and Louisiana-themed pictures, which pleased me greatly. They had many patterns of famous New Orleans buildings,... More

After reading reviews and FaceBook, I was very excited to visit this shop. I totally enjoyed my time there and my purchase. Two employees pulled threads, so the purchase took a minimum amount of time. Both employees were personable and knowledgeable. My husband was with me and we asked for lunch reccomendation and they provided us with a great lunch... More

I did not buy anything when I visited Quarter Stitch, but it wasn't because I wasn't tempted (I always have a project in my bag.) I stopped in because I can't resist checking out local shops, and was not disappointed. The store is welcoming, the employees friendly, and the needlepoint unexpected. I have never seen so many canvas options in... More

I had this on my travel itinerary, and was looking forward to a visit here, and purchasing some yarn from this shop. I had went to the web site and knew they had home spun yarn. I found a clerk to speak to, and as she was going to look for something for me, some other people came and she... More

This is a terrific hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the "extra's" make this a must stay facility.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
