We took the family on the first swamp tour of the day in the middle of March. The gators were just becoming active for the season, and we had a lot of really fun and up-close animal experiences. The facility had snacks, coffee, and clean bathrooms. Our guide grew up in the area and had plenty of fun stories to tell, while also being extremely knowledgeable. He admitted he was always learning new things, but there wasn’t a question we threw at him that he couldn’t handle. We got bitten by a few little bugs while we were waiting to start the tour, but none once we got on the boat. We recommend this tour and would definitely do it again!

Hubby was reluctant to go, later said it was one of the best parts of NOLA trip. Excellent tour guide. Too cool for gators, but did see one small one at dock. But the wild boars swimming to our boat was worth it. Very clean and organized place.

The tour was nice and very informative, we had a chance to explore the grounds, do the Big House guided tour (30min, no pictures allowed) and see the reconstructed slave quarters... There was also a short movie on the history of sugar cane production screening in the garden. Some people from our group went to the nearby Laura Plantation as well (2 plantations tour) but I'd say even the Oak Alley Plantation alone is enough if you're planning to explore it in great details... Moreover there is an onsite restaurant with good menu of local dishes and reasonable prices! We had lunch there and didn't regret!

Had a great time today, there was a lot of people at the outpost but everyone was organized nicely and it all ran smoothly. The tour it's self was great . Our tour guide shared a lot of his knowledge of the local eco system and really encouraged any questions. We saw turtles, alligators, birds, wild pigs. Would definitely recommend.
