Interesting and colorful. I drove through the neighborhood. Very New Orleans, I'd say. Worth the time to see it.

Branch out from the French Quarter and Garden District to discover this close-in neighborhood full of life and some cool architecture. Stop at a cafe. Hang out.

A wonderful way to spend a few hours on a nice day is driving Marigny and Bywater to view the colorful murals and houses. Take a break mid-way at any one of a number of delicious cafes or coffee shops.

We did a bike tour in this neighborhood. There were some lovely houses and we stopped at the cemetery. It was easy to cycle around.

This neighbourhood has plenty of colourful houses, cute little coffee shops, restaurants & bars nearby and everyone seems really friendly. There was even a little grocery store/deli near where we were staying that had pretty much anything you needed. If you really want to be where the people are and love music then Frenchmen Street is where you want to be. The live music streaming from all of the different venues is unreal. We really enjoyed The Maison. Try the lemongrass gin there. It will change your life.…
