Didnt realize i booked the wrong week, but didnt matter they corrected it on the spot. Tour guide (forgot her name) was very imformative about the cemetary. It gets hot, and limited shade so bring water. Glad we took the tour. Thank you

Took this tour with guide Dave who was extremely passionate regarding the cemetery. Learned more from him regarding New Orleans than from any of the visitor centers. Had a small group of 9 which after seeing other groups of 20+ we realized that we had...More

Highly recommend booking your cemetery tour with Save Our Cemeteries! Booked a tour of the St. Louis #1 Cemetery during a weekend in December. The overall group was relatively small, about seven or eight people as they split you into groups. Our guide was Sabine,...More

We thoroughly enjoyed tour with the volunteer guide, Jeanne. She really added so much information about the St Louis No. 1 Cemetery , and about the work that Save Our Cemeteries does to preserve these sacred historical sites. We highly recommend tours with this group

The ground is level & the pace is fairly slow. The only aspect I found challenging was the heat. If you go at a cooler time you'd probably be fine. The guides will probably be helpful if you need to take it easy.

Yes, you need a tour. They will not allow you to enter the cemetery without a guide. This is for the safety of the guest and of the cemetery itself.
