New Orleans Ghost, Voodoo & Vampire Walking Tour

3,032 reviews
New Orleans is infamous for its spooky past, filled with tales of voodoo, vampires, ghosts, and witches. During this walking tour, save time with a guide who knows the quickest routes around the Big Easy and brings the folklore and history of the city to life, all during the creepiest time of day—the night. Plus, a centrally located meeting point makes for a hassle-free, fun evening.

We enjoyed the insectarium however try to avoid being there with groups of school kids. They were not interested - just happy to be out of the classroom and running amok. Not sure where their teachers or chaperones were? The Butterfly Garden was just okay and very crowded. We went the week after Mardi Gras, like March 10, and before many people knew that there was going to be a virus outbreak in the city. We were crammed into that butterfly exhibit. Despite signage asking patrons to not touch the butterflies, there were still teenagers with the school groups, touching and trying to grab the butterflies. The docents finally told the kids to quit. There are other butterfly exhibits across the country that take more care with their butterfly friends - I wouldn't go here again. Too cramped and crowded. We purchased this visit through a pass from the Audubon Zoo.

This was my first experience with an insectarium, and it was more than I ever could have expected! There were so many little creepy-crawlers that I’d never even heard of! The whole museum was a big learning experience for me, with every corner being a new friend with a whole story to tell! The most wonderful part for us was the butterfly garden, which has a serene Japanese theme. It was such a lovely little space , and a great break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We took about an hour to just sit and admire all of the beautiful butterflies, and soak in the peaceful beauty of such beautiful creatures. It took us about two hours to make our way through, and was a great way to spend an afternoon in the city. And if you’re interested in the aquarium, make sure to get the pass that includes both! It’s a great savings, and makes for a wonderful experience for all ages.

Well displayed items, with good information. This is more for young kids as some of the information panels were located knee high, not for someone 6 feet tall. More structured for kids, interesting though.

Bought a combo ticket that included this place and I was not really excited when my daughter dragged me in. I was shocked to find th is place was absolutely amazing! Even the cafeteria tables had exhibits living inside them under thick glass! The exhibits were educational, but also fun! I would have paid $50 (the price of the combo ticket) just for the hour we spent in the Butterfly garden where butterflies were beautifully swarming, a tortoise was roaming freely, and there were tons of photo ops! We literally stayed until they showed us out! Absolute must see!

The entire museum was well done, kid friendly but not too much that adults can enjoy as well. Real bugs to eat and tasted good! The butterfly and beetle display in the last room was the best I've ever seen. Get the Audubon Experience pass for the best value and visit the aquarium and zoo.
