Great option for food and music on Frenchman St

Went there for a late lunch on friday. The band was very good, and the food, very tasty. Would surely recommend.

It is a place exactly as their sign reads - 'Dedicated to the Preservation of Jazz' Amazingly this typically would be the kind of place you'd fin don Frenchman St. But right in the heart of Bourbon St. you find this gem for incredible jazz music - just as you'd hope to find in Nola. And these musicians passionately love... More

Didn't like the sign "Dedicated to the preservation of jazz", it is not Preservation Hall but the music is enjoyable; a bit variable depending on who is playing but a good bar for jazz nonetheless.

If you like upbeat jazz and singing you will not regret coming here. The house band is one of the best or maybe the best in the FQ for this style of music. No reservations, no admission, no food just great drinks average prices for the FQ. Outdoor tables in the rear smoking permitted.

We really enjoyed our evening at this jazz bar, as did a house full of patrons. This wasn't our first visit there, and it won't be our last. The staff was efficient and helpful there are one or two regular bands that play a few days at a time , though we're usually there for the same band.

Your experience will all depend on the bands that are playing when you visit. We went early on a Saturday night and even though the band was good I found it strong ether they had chairs set up on the back of the dance floor in rows for people to sit in. There was not a band set up to... More

A gem amongst the chaos of Bourbon Street. I saw a band do two sets - piano, drums, tuba, sax, trombone. Exceptional artists. Bar service was quick and attentive. Drinks were reasonable for a city.

We got to enjoy Maison Bourbon 3 nights while in New Orleans. Get there between sets to get a good table. There were one of the only clubs that week playing blues and jazz on Bourbon and we loved it. Also one of the only clubs that could make a good Sazerac or Pimm's Cup... classic New Orleans cocktails. Our... More

If you are looking for really good NO Jazz and a good time, make sure you include this one in the French Quarter. We were there one evening and loved it. ❤️ We told our wait person we would... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
