Nice stop to visit with authentic furnishings. No air conditioner or maybe it wasn’t working when I visited making the self guided tour a bit warm. There should be signs on the doors saying enter because I missed the kitchen and other areas that appeared closed and not open to touring.…

Something we stumbled on. It was worth it. As we were waiting for an end to a event at the cathedral we had time to look around and came across this. The house took you back to the days before the civil war. It should you how the wealthy lived and history of how they housed slaves and indentured servants. one would never think that there were other slaves than black as the indentured servants terms can change. You saw the beauty of the house and the interior décor. What a time it must have been to live at that time. Want to get a taste of life during then visit this house.…

This is a must for anyone who enjoys history. The 1850 house transports you back to city life in New Orleans in the middle of the 1800s. The rooms are all decorated for the period, and each stop has a period conversation for you to listen to. It's very well done and makes an impression.…
