This beach is my favorite beach in Guanacaste! It is very small and beautiful and almost no people there. If you don't have a car just hitch here, very easy to do!

Beautiful bay, safe for families to swim unlike many of Gunacaste's surf beaches. Beach is best at high tide, quite rocky at low tide, small island to hike around, stunning scenery and trees for shade. Fresh fish from local fishermen most days

White sand beach with exceptionally clear blue water. Gentle waves. Some volcanic rock outcroppings but nothing that interferes with swimming or wading.

What a gem this beach is, wonderful, wonderful hidden spot, bring a snorkelling kit! Beautiful trees will serve as best shade, you can buy fish directly from the boat!

Hard to find a deserted beach like this. A short hike from Hacienda del Sol, this place was quiet and great to swim in.

Remote, quiet and breath taking views. Definitely figure out the tides so you can swim since it is all rocks at low tide. Or just take a long walk/hike and then go get a smoothy at the bar on your way out of town.

Travel will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes (60 km) from Tamarindo to San Juanillo. You need a 4wd vehicle to get there. The place definitely worth it.
