We were not sure what to expect before coming here. Some of the Presidential sites are much better than the others. I will put this one solidly in the better category, although the movie is a little dated and not the best quality...still very good...More

This is a tiny representation of a little Iowa town at the time of Herbert Hoover's birth. His small childhood home is well kept, and you can take a short walk back into history in a few reconstructed buildings. The blacksmith shop is interesting. See...More

This site is very well manicured and does a great job of preserving history. It's not a big display, but then the visitor's center mentions that Hoover didn't want a big show. He wanted to be remembered for his Quaker values. The ability to capture...More

Bert Hoover brought his Midwestern, Quaker values to the White House. That is not a bad thing. This historic site is worth a visit when traveling across Iowa on I-80.

It's fun to see how this President lived as a young child. It's not huge, just big enough to wander and see. I enjoyed and would go again if I were taking someone other than the person traveling with me this trip.

I'm so glad I took the grandkids to see Hoover's sites. One thing they learned is what a great humanitarian he was.

This was a last minute stop and so peaceful, quaint, and tranquil. To stroll and see him birthplace, his father's blacksmith shop (active DNR Blacksmith working), the church he attended and the fifteen historic homes was a delight! He started so small and did so...More
