I got a goosebump once I reached here. I sat by the river where there is some boat who was selling food on the deck. Definitely an Icon worth visiting!

Don't miss your picture with the bridge at the background. The Ampera Bridge is an authentic evident that you have visited Palembang! The best place to take a picture is from the floating RiverSide Restaurant. A romantic scenary will be at the night time--when the lights illuminate along the bridge ...

If in Palembang, the Ampera bridge is a "required" photo spot. A variety of other places within close walking distance (Grand Mosque, Monpera, Benteng Kuto Besak, etc) so can spend a few hours wandering around taking photos and having lunch in one of the local eating places (although mostly average chain stores lacking any local flair, even a KFC in... Take a seat at Kuto Besak fort, in the edge of Ampera Bridge. This is the best spot for you to spend the night with your lovely. The bright light came from the hundred of lamp around the bridge make it looks better than before. Don't forget to try the 'tek-tek' noodle sold by many seller ther. Enjoy!

The middle section used to move to let tall ship pass but that of course is no longer needed. Common traffic jam. Somehow popular amongstthe local.

This bridge is very old and historical. I'm glad I get to visit. Locals say that the lights are not always on, but it was when I was there. I heard it used to be a draw bridge but it's very old so it's not functional for ships to pass anymore only for cars.

After visiting the Ampera Bridge, I had to reminde me of the fact, that this iron thing constructed by Dutch is one of the most famos Highlights in Palembang, representing symbol of the second biggest City of Sumatra and the seventh biggest city in Indonesia and it isn't working anymore.
