Worth the visit and had the waterfalls to ourselves
Dec 2019
We actually stayed up in Munduk for 2 days and on day 2 got a guide from our hotel and walked there. You probably could go without a guide but sooo glad we did as we walked out a different way which was easier than back tracking and doing all the stairs. We visited 3 waterfalls and they were stunning. The locals are obviously really looking after this area with beautiful gardens and plant life along all the trails with stunning colours etc.It was like walking in a botanical garden. All three waterfalls we visited were deserted and we had the whole place to ourselves for. A Swim or just to contemplate. There are 100 steps to waterfalls 2 and 400 at the last one so if you have mobility issues, forget it but the first one is easy to navigate and can be accessed from a car park just off the main road.I would do them even on a day trip from Kuta they were that pretty but a long drive just for waterfalls.A must visit.Small payments at the gates to each waterfall but like $1 each and you can see that the area is kept clean and maintained.Even toilets near some

A Beautiful Waterfall
Nov 2019
I and my friend come to Munduk and Melanting waterfall is close with our hotel. We went there without guide local, we are success to reach the waterfall. Lucky us nobody there, so quiet and beautiful. We enjoy our time, listening waterfall and some animals, no other voices. It is peaceful.

Waterfalls

Like the Munduk Waterfall, many of the photos and reviews are of the wrong place(s). This one is at the end of a long staircase into a ravine. There are two wooden bridges criss-crossing the creek below the waterfall. There is a rather unused extension of the walk back to the village, but it eventually got us there. Stay on the trail, wind through the houses and abandoned villas, and you'll be back on the main road. Beautiful waterfall, with a fee to see.

Very nice but not the best waterfall in the area
Sep 2018
If staying in the munduk area and on foot this will be one of the waterfalls to visit. If you have limited time and a motorbike i would suggest going further out to see some of the more epic waterfalls. We had this spot entirely to ourselves and loved it- until the next day when we saw some SERIOUS waterfalls.

Pair this with Munduk waterfall as they are 10-20 minutes walk from each other.

Third waterfall at Munduk - Be ready for a very long trek from Red Coral and Volden Valley waterfalls
Jun 2018 • Family
We visited this waterfall in June'18 on a sunny day. We went to Red Coral and Golden Valley and walked towards Melating waterfall. It is more than one hour from the other waterfall. The road is okay till you reach the entry fee point and pay 10000 per person. Then the road is very steep and the steps are a bit difficult to negotiate. Reaching waterfall requires patience and hardship. Not many people we find on our way. We did not find the waterfall to be a great view compared to other waterfalls we had seen in Bali. On a sunny day, it is fine to take the pain but if it rains, you can expect slippery path. You may have to take the same road to come back to the place of parking (known as Munduk parking) or cross waterfall and climb up towards Munduk village (this is quite away from Munduk parking and Munduk town). We were advised to walk towards Munduk village after crossing the bamboo bridge over the river near the waterfall. That is the most difficult part of climbing up without any sign of road or direction. We did not have a guide and we just followed our instinct to walk up to Munduk village. We did not meet a single tourist or local guide or any human being on our way to Munduk village from the waterfall. It took almost 1.5 hours climb through forest (but no proper road or path) to reach Munduk village and were completely exhausted. We sought help from the local village boys who agreed to drive us using their motor bikes. Otherwise, you will take another 45 minutes to 1 hour to climb up steep road to reach the main road. It is definitely not a short hike from Munduk town. Please carry enough water and dry fruits if you have to visit this waterfall.

Perfect place to visit, takes 2h (or 20min if you are in a hurry). I took the time to swim and relax in front of the WF.
