Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Felt like walking around in Surfers Paradise.
Tons of Aussie bogans , eating Aussie food, listening to to Aussie music and drinking cheap beer.
Oh and getting another tatt.
Save the money and Hassel and just go to the gold coast.
Better parts of Bali than this area.

The beach in general was clean, waves are always nice for surfing or even just to play around. Like any other public beach in Bali, expect to see people selling stuff.
There were dogs on the beach, not sure it's wild or someone's pets. We almost stepped on its dung though, so do be careful.

stayed around legian street this month when revisited Bali.cuz quite a long time ,almost two years not been to bali, i really miss sunset and beach in Bali, so decided to come here to see the sunset, but that day cloudy, cant see sunset.though no sunset,Legian beach still worth a visit.it connected kuta beach, you can walk from legian beach to kuta beach.so i walked along the beach to kuta.you can see people getting a massage here, drinking a beer here, relaxing on the sunbed here, playing balls here.you may think it is crowded, before pandemic, i did think so,but after two years,i wish the beach always full of people,i didnt meant crowded,at least we must see people doing activities on the beach. beach shouldn’t empty, dont you think so?

It was kinda a clean beach for Bali standard. Very serene with only few people due to the pandemic.
We stayed at Padma Legian hotel and it was just a throw stone away from the hotel. So nice and blessed!

Comfortable. This beach has seen tourists for decades, and it shows. Plenty of beanbags to sit on and umbrellas to sit under, with coolers full of beers and other beverages to sip. Close to Double Six hotel, the sunsets here are sublime. Stay for the day, try a surf lesson or two and watch the sun sink beyond the waves.

Legian beach is a great beach for a swim, surf, long walk or run. You can also get a massage, pedicure souvenirs or anything you desire, It’s a bit quiet through the day at the moment due to COVID but nights are busy with locals. You can always get a cold beer, great sunset and almost any type of food you’re after. Lots of sun lounges and umbrellas for rent all day. Really good beach scene to see.

The beach is quite nice. As you can imagine sunset is an even busier time as it's very popular to sit on the beach with a drink as the sun sets.

Previously I stayed in Legian so used the beach often, even did a surfing lesson there.
This time I just did a visit. It was crowded, but not as hectic is Kita beach.
The water was relatively clean as was the beach.
It was nice to watch the surfers.

Looking to have a bit of a party on the beach for a combined 60th. Is this possible?

Yes. Plenty of places either on the beach or just behind would bite your arm off to help you celebrate. SKAI Beach Club at Padma Legian would make a good venue.
I stayed in Canggu (Nelayan Beach) back in October and loved it. There was a stand there with $5 surf lessons. Are $5 surf lessons in legian beach too?

There will be one of the locals willing to show you how to surf at any of the surf board rentals, negotiate a price directly with them.

If you can stand humid rainy very hot. Then go for it. It will be packed as probably school hols in Australia & lots of people away over there for celebrations. Goodluck. Enjoy the magic of Bali. Just be sensible.

December is monsoon season but it will still be very hot. I travelled over cgristmas and new year and it was hot and it rained randomly. The rain doesnt always last for a long time anyway so you can still enjoy. Have fun

In order to lounge and sunbathe on the beach, is it required to rent a chair? Or can you just throw a towel down on the sand?

Agree with previous person and with the heavy hawking, as soon as you talk to 1, you will have a million. So either say no and mean no or........Number 32 (older lady) gave my wife the greatest neck/back massage she recons she ever had!!!!

I want to ask a question that will help all traveler in trip adviser.
How do you negotiate a price in the beach for services, and how much is considered an expensive item or service.
Dan L
Bunbury, Australia6,668 contributions
Depends on the service or item.
My wife and I generally spend the first 2 - 3 days relaxing and browsing for a few hours each day to see what is available, and what, if anything, that we want. We check a sample of markets and fixed price shops if we intend to purchase something. From past experience and after 14 trips to Bali, we have only ever purchased 1 item from a beach vendor; in Lovina in 1995. We find better prices and better quality in the markets and shops without the 'in your face hassle' of beach vendors. we do not have beach massages any more as the other vendors refuse to stay away and are a pain.
That said, beach massages, pedicures, manicures, braiding, etc are similar in price to the standard massage outlets.
If you want to purchase other items on the beach, do your homework first, hone your bargaining skills, ensure items are in working order, not torn, correctly sized, etc.
If you live in Surabaya, you should know the rules - CAVEAT EMPTOR - let the buyer beware.
Have fun.

Слышала, что на этом пляже можно прыгнуть с банджи-джампингом. Кто в курсе: так ли это. и где вообще на бали можно прыгнуть?

hello - I just want to ask if there is a place along the beach where you can sit and enjoy the sunset? Also is it possible to swim in the ocean?
Thanks

Vince there are plenty of beach bars on the beach to take in the sunset or a number of restaurants with more expensive drinks. The beach has life savers but remember to swim between the flags as the surf can be very dangerous.
