Great experience... maybe the best water town in China... located near Kunshan. One hour by taxi. Almost 160 CNY.

You could combine Suzhou and Zhouzhang. Travel from Shanghai to Suzhou and stay overnight, travel onto Zhouzhang the next morning, visit the water town then and return to Shanghai the following morning

There is a local bus directly from Shanghai to there, but last the return bus is early in the evening, alternately you can take a cab from there to the nearest subway and return late, see my comments on this place for more... More
