Cocktails at Sharpen the Axe are the best way to start your night in Kampot! A little taste of Cambodia with all cocktails made with fresh local ingredients.

This was always a bit of a quixotic venture (a town the size of Kampot probably can't support a "high-end" cocktail bar), and lasted barely a year - closing around the end of 2017.
The space was pleasant, but the cocktails weren't anything very special - and I don't think they ever managed to get a kitchen sorted out. For me, they never created a very welcoming ambience either: the last time I went in, both the owner and her barmaid were glued to their mobile phones and barely said a word to me (or the sole other customer at the time). I guess there's a reason why they only garnered one review on here all year.
