Ole Smoky is the first federally licensed moonshine distillery in the state of Tennessee. A visit to Ole Smoky is the true moonshine experience. As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of our grains cooking and fermenting. You'll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end. Our distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining in East Tennessee. After you see, smell and hear about the process, we offer tastings of our Award winning shine! Samples of our Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin' and Moonshine Cherries as well as Apple Pie and Blackberry flavors - plus we offer seasonal and special flavors that aren't available in package stores. And of course, you'll be able to buy plenty of moonshine and Ole Smoky merchandise to take home with you.

With great bluegrass playing live and a great bar set up this place takes the cake as best Moonshinery over it's competitors. Entertaining bartender gives you about 13 samples for 5 bucks.

Kathleen made our experience there very fun and helped narrow down our choice of shine to purchase, and had very fun stories for each shine that could be purchased.

It isn't a "tour" you can watch through a window. Be prepared for the smell it stinks to high heaven lol. As far as I remember the only cost is to do the taste testing. It is worthwhile to do the taste testing they make it... More

It’s not really that kind of bar. It’s more like a store with a bar in the middle where you taste the moonshine. However, right outside the store is a bunch if rocking chairs in front of a stage where they play live music.
