Description:

Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips...

Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

We prearranged this trip well ahead of time and really enjoyed the experience. We were taken by coach along a very sloping tunnel to the bottom of the Lake Powell dam where they had the triple hull pontoon boats for the trip. We had 15 in our boat and it was a lazy ride in very calm waters for about... More

We started our excursion with a 1 hour plane ride around the east rim of the canyon, so beautiful! Then a jeep ride to Antelope Canyon and tour, never seen anything like that, and pictures don't do it justice, then to top it all off a 3.5 hour raft ride down the Colorado river with the best guide ever, Brent,... Not knowing what to expect, my wife and I were EXTREMELY pleased with our 'expedition' May 22, 2014 starting from the Glen Canyon Dam. Our Guide, Brad, was very well versed in river/canyon geology and numerous interesting side facts.... not to mention his great musical ability.... I strongly recommend this trip for anyone who has never been on the river....... More

We arranged for a morning rafting trip on the Colorado and an afternoon Hummer excursion to a slot canyon in the afternoon. The river trip was guided by Beth, who possesses a great sense of humour and was great fun on the trip. She brought her own experiences and knowledge to the boat and skillfully tok up from the base... More

one of the best adventures I have ever experienced. It is so beautiful, a slow float from the dam to Lees Ferry. The guides are outstanding. We stop at a beach and view petroglyphs.

We took the raft trip over Memorial Day weekend in the morning. I would definitely recommend this trip! The company is a very professional group and are the only operator doing these raft trips from the Glen Canyon Dam through Horseshoe Bend. Had a nice trip on the river and enjoyed ourselves and the stop on the beach. I even... More

We did a smooth water float trip in April 2014. We were staying at Yavapai in Grand Canyon and booked the tour through Xanterra. So multiple companies come together to make this an amazing trip. Some additional info on what to expect is posted as a jpeg to this review. We were picked up at 0 dark 30 (Ok 6:30... More

After seeing Horseshoe Bend from the rim last year, we were compelled to see it from the bottom up - and what an amazing sight it is. Colorado River Discovery is the only licensed operator on the Colorado River for such pontoon boat trips, but they definitely have it together. We opted for the 7:30 a.m. half day trip (in... More

We had Gerry as our guide down the Colorado River Smooth river rafting. He was informative, knowledgeable, personable, delightful! He had lots to tell us and some awesome pictures, too. The Smooth River Rafting is a must-do when visiting in the Grand Canyon.

It wasn't a cheap combo but we really enjoyed our day. The float trip was peaceful and the scenery beautiful. Our guide Beth could use a little more training as she couldn't answer some questions people were asking but she still was a wonderful guide. As we had a combo tour we were provided with lunch. It was the best... More
