I recommend hiring an experienced guide with a truck that can get you through the sand and who knows the way. Otherwise, It's a difficult trip into an absolutely astounding rock formation. We were fortunate to have Mike Leinen take us there and his knowledge...More

We were lucky enough to be staying with a local who is familiar with (seemingly) all the dirt back roads in southern Utah and northern Arizona. We said "We'd like to go to Zion." He said "Forget it, it's the weekend. I'm taking you to...More

White Pockets is located 2.5 hours from Page, AZ and requires a high clearance, 4x4 vehicle to get to. The majority of the travel is on sandy or clay type roads and you really should be comfortable with off roading before you attempt this. Either...More

If you have a 4x4 with plenty of ground clearance, and you can find your way do it, you'll save money. One of the nice things about this place other than it's breath-taking beauty, is once you are there, you can use your time hiking...More

White Pockets is maybe not the easiest to get to (vague signage, must have 4wd, deep sand in some places, quite a ways off the beaten path), but wow - once you arrive you'll be glad you made the effort! A sprawling formation of swirling...More

Spectacular! Although we did not visit any of the similar rock or wave formations in the area, this sight was a highlight of our trip to the Southwest. It was much less crowded than nearby destinations like Zion National Park, and offered scenery that was...More

White Pocket has been on my must see list. I booked a tour with Dreamland Safari Tours as I have no experience driving in deep mud (Houserock Valley Road) or sand (BLM roads). The rock formations are breathtaking. See it now before permits are needed...More

I already did a review of Paria outfitters. Steve was our guide for this trip. I thought I would do a short review on White Pockets. I think some folks come on their own. I hired a tour guide. There's no way I could figure...More

This is a must-visit for anyone who loves scenic views and appreciates the magic of mother nature. You’ll definitely need a 4WD - do not attempt this without one. There’s no way to get in without going through gravel, sand, and if there’s rain -...More

What can you say about about nature's handiwork? It was like being on a different planet. We were lucky enough to be the only 2 there that morning. It was still except for some wind. Spent a couple hours just taking in the beauty. You...More

It's going to be really hot in summer. I went in May and it was OK, but I wasn't planning to stick around all day. I suggest you contact the BLM office in St. George, UT.
