Vermilion Cliffs National Monument is this incredibly long (east-west) geologic feature that more or less parallels Highway 89A in far north-central Arizona. While driving on route 89A you can’t miss these beautiful cliffs. The scenery along this route is worth the drive. We drove it from Page to Kanab. There are many sites to see along this route. For us, it was a must see trip.

Driving around you can see them. Nothing spectacular. Won't go out of our way to see them but they were alongside the road.

Vermilion Cliffs was on route 89A on the way to Grand Canyon from Lake Powell so we stopped to see them. They are beautifully colored and very unique, definitely worth seeing!

These cliffs are like no others I have seen. They remind me of squaw skirts the Native American women wear and are constantly changing color throughout the day as the sun and clouds move.

The old Route 89A was worth the trip. Its a meandering road, not an express highway, with lots of nice views and more casual ride, if you have the time. The Vermillion Cliffs were spectacular. Make you feel small. The views all around are worth...More

89A is a great drive. It's definitely a whole day trip to get out and hike, or even drive around, the monument.
