There's a shell road at Glen Canyon Dam near Lake Powell that is a secluded beach area. There are huge rock formations near the water that are absolutely breath taking. Definitely worth the trip down this long shell road. Take about 30 minutes to explore this area. You won't be disappointed.

Lake Powell was so pretty and a type of vacation we had never taken before. We were looking for a quiet lake vacation just to get away from busy life. My husband and I went in mid May, and rented a jet ski with hopes to travel the lake for several hours and explore. The water was way too cold... More

Visited Lake Powell vista and Dam visitor centre. Beautiful vista of the lake north of Page, past the bridge over the dam and continue for 1-2 mile. There is a sign and the vista is up on the right. Worth a visit to watch the sunset. Site is closed between sunset and sunrise. There is also a road along the... More

You cannot beat the scenery on and around Lake Powell as it has to be some of the best in the world particularly as you get up to the rainbow Bridge area. You can imagine why they selected this as a location for the original 'Planet of The Apes' film with Charlton Heston landing his space craft in the middle of... Literally the only vacation I must do every year... I love this place, have a house boat on the lake (only way to do it in my opinion) There is so much to do here and just be in a paradise.

I spent 2 nights in Page during my journey in US in august 2015. I decided to do a cruise on the Lake and Page is a beautiful town between Monument Valley (or Grand Canyon, it depends of itinerary) and Bryce Canyon. There are a lot of activities to do in Page and on the Colorado River. Recommended!

While it would be a site to see when it was just a canyon and no dam, the lake is wonderful nestled amongst the natural formations.

We drove down to the marina to be told it was a $30 entry fee. Tip: if you are going to do a few National Parks, purchase the Park pass as the entry fees are between $20-30 each park. We didn't end up going down onto Lake Powell but got some great photos from other viewpoints. Would like to spend... More

I had no idea what to expect seeing a man-made lake in the desert. The lake is HUGE and because of its size it seems deserted. There are amazing houseboats that you can rent for the week at the marina. You can also rent boats and jetskis.
