The Big Ditch is right behind the visitor's center. Very pretty, interesting history. I can't remember if they had picnic tables, but this would be a great place for a picnic

The visitor center had a very friendly welcoming staff, then I walked down the shady trail along the big ditch. Very nice and peaceful and adjacent to the downtown area so you can park and walk to town.

In planning the town, Silver City did not realize its' Main Street was subject to huge flash floods. Over the years, it was washed away and a 50+ foot ditch was formed by the rushing waters. So the town made the best of it, a...More

It is worth seeing, but I thought it needed to be cleaned up a bit. If they would put a little work and money into this place, it could be really cool. It kind of smelled like stagnant water, and there was a few sketchy...More
