With the variety of major city stores at the Fulton Street Mall there is no need to venture into tge city. Apart from the small bargain shops one can indulge in H and M, Century 21, Target, Express, Forever 21, Macy's etc.

Lots of bargains to be had. The C21 store is the nicest of the three we've visited in NYC (others are near WTC and UWS).
Only criticism is that it can seem a little disconcertingly dead on weekend afternoons.
