I lived in NY for almost nine years. I spent 3 of those years in and near Bushwick, yet I never walked around enough to see all the beauty and artistry that is Bushwick. My boyfriend surprised me with a walking tour (not sure which company). The energy, the people, the art, the culture...all portrayed through the colors and canvas that is Bushwick. So much artistry in a few short blocks. The collection is a must for those who love street art, or art in general. The art is constantly changing so what you see today may not be here next year. The best part is as you walk and wander, you see artists at work and if you stay long enough you see the art come to life.

This needs to be on your to-do list when in NYC. My friends an I usually start at Bogart street and walk around to explore the different art around the neighbourhood. The area of Bushwick is quite hipster and there are lots of cute places around. The art is honestly mindblowing - you can end up spending hours walking around this area.

Easily accessible by the L train. This is a living, breathing art collective. It sprawls across a neighborhood in Brooklyn, so that you have to go back again and again, and you never truly see it all. There are always new pieces, pieces being changed or covered up, or replaced. I went after the recent black lives matters protests, so there was some new art and new graffiti. There are hidden treasures down every alleyway—you never know what you might find. The neighborhood is super diverse and very walkable. Though the restaurants weren’t open due to COVID 19, there were several ethnic restaurants that I would have loved to check out! I saw SO MUCH, and I still feel like there is more to see. Highly recommended.

I did a walking tour and it was excellent. Had a guide called Mar - who was very well informed about Graffiti art and Street Art. I enjoyed it more than the MOMA!!!! Only problem it was cold day - so that took away from the enjoyment.

This was a wonderful half day trip with my nine year old who was the one who picked the activity out do to his love of youtube art sensation “Vexx”. We were able to walk and look without feeling the stress of traditional museum guidelines. The work was vibrant and interesting, and the vibe welcoming. Add the fact that it was free, and It becomes a activity I would recommend to any family looking for something to do.
