I took the intro class at the Manhattan location. My instructor was Clifton and I found him to be a fun and knowledgeable instructor. Before our class started he interacted with the class answering our general questions and having fun. It was the first time I have had archery instruction and through his coaching I improved over the course of the hour and had great success! I will be in NYC for a few months for work and have already signed up for a lane rental this next weekend.…

I bumped into Gotham Archery searching online for a decent archery spot, since it had great reviews, I decided to give it a shot and try it out. We had a really good initial impression and it seemed like a perfect place for my children and I to learn archery. Keep in mind that It is mandatory to take an introductory class before you are allowed to rent a lane ($45 for each participant). In the class they briefly explain a few details about safety, where to stand when shooting your bow, and play a few games that most young children would definitively enjoy. Thereafter, you have to make your reservation online before showing up to the range (Be careful, NO walk-ins allowed; you will get a reservation link in your email after your safety intro class). Lane rentals go for $15 an hour and basic equipment cost you an extra $16. Don't expect them to offer any help, unless you are paying for a private lesson. I had a sour experience on my second day, after my intro class, when nobody would help me out to show me how to properly shoot the bow (I kept hitting my arm) I had to watch some YouTube videos to find out what I was doing wrong. On another occasion, our third visit, I started to notice that this place was unorganized and had a below average customer service. At times, employees looked disoriented and overwhelmed with the simple tasks in front of them. Very frequently, our lane rentals would start 15 to 20 minutes late. In some cases, they would even forget to provide us with the rental equipment (I am not kidding!) and leave us waiting in the seating area. Unfortunately, there is no system in place, unless they are acquainted with you (or show some interest in purchasing an accessory) employees would walk around without making sure if you are being helped or need help. In addition, some employees treat you with a condescending or rude demeanor. Don't take me wrong, most of the young employees working here are very friendly and willing to sincerely help you and provide you with some welcome assistance, but all it takes is a bad experience to ruin your entire visit. I truly hope, in the near future, Gotham Archery improves its service and gets its act together. We are looking forward to continuing practicing the sport, we are beginning to enjoy so much, in this place.…

My wife and I are in our late 50s and wanted to try archery as a recreation. The staff at Gotham Archery was professional, courteous, and very patient. Time and consideration was given to us in helping us size a bow correctly and learn proper shooting technique. The instruction provided was clear and concise, the instructors were extremely knowledgeable and sincerely interested in making our experience enjoyable and worthwhile. I would highly recommend Gotham Archery for anyone interested in pursuing archery as a recreation or for serious hunters that want to sharpen their skill.…
