Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very friendly staff who proudly walks you through their rye and gin. It's a small, cozy place. They make great cocktails.

We walked for ages to get to this place having found out about their Dorothy Parker gin the night before - we were first in the door and they weren't quite ready but they let us in anyway and made us feel very welcomed. We got chatting to Allen, the owner, about all things gin, how we heard about them and he wanted us to try his Perry Tot Navy Strength gin which was delicious. We also got to try their Rock & Rye. What was great was that you could sit & chat to the owner whilst looking at the still is was all made of just next door - amazing! The bartender was really friendly too! We left feeling very tipsy and well looked after. I can't stop telling people about their gin and this place - go check it out!

Came for drinks on the first presidential debate night and it was a great vibe. The singular bartender held his own, served everyone in great time and gave free shots as promised. Really friendly, great place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Love from London x

If you like gin visit this distillery. The tour is free, added bonus!
The staff are extremely knowledgable and friendly on their products.
As for the bar great cocktails or straight up G&T. I loved their gins especially the navy strength and what great names they have.
Their rock n rye called Mr Katz is delicious and I don't normally like this type of drink. Very reasonably priced too. I love the idea you have to purchase from a liquor store and not via the distillery unless you want to purchase a flask size bottle.
So worth the trip to this distillery.

What happens when you have an awesome distillery (New York Distillery Company) attached to a bar with an even better bartender – The Shanty!

This place was amazing not just because of the drinks, but the bartender made the night. He was suggesting and concocting drinks like a champ.

If you want a custom made cocktail from liquor made in Williamsburg try this place out.

My wife and I came here on a nice, sunny spring afternoon to hear live music and have a couple of drinks.

This establishment is actually attached to the NY Distilling Gin company, in which there's a gin tour every 30/45 minutes.

We tried a drink/combo from the menu: "Brooklyn Lager with a shot of pink Gin* I am NOT a fan of gin but the taste was very mellow yet pungent, perfect for gin drinkers. Following drinks, we took a quick tour (which is literally in the next room); we learned how gin is made and how often and was able to sample four different gin qualities.

I'd definitely recommend this place for very small crowds (3 or less) and bring your own food as this isn't a place that carries bar food (or you can drive or walk a mile to the trendy eateries in the Williamsburg areas).

Fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Nice bar but the distillery tour is what makes this place so special. An insight to the world of gin and rye, superbly conducted by Diane. A chance to sample the products and learn. Followed by fantastic cocktails made by staff who know what they are doing. Band started just as I had to go. Really enjoyable afternoon. Thank you!
