This park runs by the East River and has excellent views of the Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridges. Restaurants and shops along the way. The Brooklyn history museum. Ice cream shops. Very enjoyable walk in the good weather.

It's very nice in clear, warm days, to spread on the grass and contemplate Manhattan skyline. For pick-nicks I prefer Prospect, though.

The E does not go to Brooklyn. The C or A to High St. (the first stop in Brooklyn) is the way to go. Take them from the 34th St. station.
