If you are looking to walk and take in a lot of history and views of New York city, then I highly recommend a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Night or day you can't go wrong. It's a safe walk as you are protected from vehicular traffic and it is an experience that you will remember....plus when you get to... More

Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge should be on everyone's bucket list. Interested in more, than grab a copy of David McCullough's book.

On a freezing but sunny morning we braved the walk, buying $5 beanies from the roadside vendors on the Manhattan side. This was after doing the obligatory Law and Order photos on the steps of City Hall!. This is a great bridge walk particularly for those who dislike heights because the path is in the centre of the bridge and... More

It is great fun to walk over this bridge, take a ferry to the landing beneath the bridge, or simply enjoy it from many different vantage points. We drove past it on a trip by cab to the Wall Street area, and it was just so beautiful in the late afternoon light.

We took the subway to Clark Street and walked back to Manhattan via the bridge. Lovely walk with great photo opportunities. Not too crowded as a bit cold but we didn't mind. A must do in NYC.

Brilliant walk but very breezy so wrap up warm. There are so many tourists and locals alike walking across the bridge at the weekend. Police Officers are stationed half way along in case you feel a little uneasy but there really isn't any danger or 'edge'. Advice - Once on the Brooklyn side, turn righ and head to downtown which... A stunning symbol that reflects the culture of New York. It's one of the best places for enjoying a good sight, but it's always too busy so if you really want to enjoy the city from the other side, it is worthy going to Union City (In New Jersey), Williamsburg or Tribeca, where is less busy and the views are... Living in NYC you have a tendency to take things for granted and then you move and realize there are a lot of places you've never visited. One thing I've always wanted to do was walk or run across the bridge. I was staying at an apartment in Brooklyn 4 miles from the bridge and needed to put in about... More
