My family and I booked a dinner cruise on the Tanana Chief in August of 2016. The dinner was cooked on shore in the company's catering business. The food was excellent and plentiful. Even my 14-year-old son got enough to eat. The cruise was relaxing,...More

Well worth a trip on the sternwheeler. We saw mushing dogs, had a great commentary along the river. Had a flying boat come along, land and take off. Visited the village and caribou. Very good presentations by the youngsters at the village..

We did the dinner cruise in July 2016 on a nice summer day and the cruise itself was okay. The ship cruises a few miles on the Chena to the Tanana. You see the housing on the banks of the Chena, some of them quite...More

The Brunch was awful - overcooked eggs and overdone breakfast meats (ham & bacon), stale tasting sausage links, extremely over-ripe watermelon (can't believe they even served it), fishy tasting gravy for the hard biscuits. The only palatable items were the coffee cake, strawberries and...More

Traveled the Chena River on a sternwheeler with a host whose narrative was very interesting. The day included learning a bit about how dogs are very lovingly raised and trained for sledding, visiting an Athabascan village, hearing Laura share her hopes about the Iditorad, panning...More
