See a movie at a great small historic Art Deco style movie theatre. One of a kind. Shows unusual movies not usually seen at regular movie theaters. Membership is available for locals who want to visit frequently with special pricing and incentives. If you are visiting Brookline, Boston and have the time for a movie this is the place to... More

Impressive selection of independent films (equal to Landmark Sunshine Cinema in Cambridge's Kendall Square but with more atmosphere), selection of beers on tap and a red and white wine every night for purchase, meticulous historical preservation of the space and modern amenities such as an elevator and concession stand. My all time favorite treat to self is to get a... More

The Coolidge Corner Theater is a nice pick. In the centre of Brookline, the cinema has this retro and historical decors that makes it appealing. Like other cinemas, you will have access to drinks, sweets and pop corn while enjoying your film. I have been there twice in 2 months, I will go again anytime.

While the Coolidge is a national treasure, and they regularly show classics, from Rocky Horror at midnight to the yearly showing of all 222 minutes of Lawrence of Arabia (as it was meant to be seen, on a huge screen, where you can practically feel the sand on your face), and they have superb taste in international and independent films,... Wow, why doesn't all theatres look like this? Beautiful interior (red satin seats, golden walls etc.), as well the exterior with bright neon lights. Went this Halloween to see Alfred Hitchcocks "Physco", and watching it in this kind of an environment and on the big screen using 35 mm film was such an amazing experience. Felt like I had moved... Remember when movie theaters were places where you could get lost in another world and be transported to a different city, country or galaxy (not to mention the past or the future) and forget everything in the "real" world... That's what the Coolidge Corner Theater is like - a place in which to experience the "reel" world that's comfortable, respectful... More

This theater is great and always has some great indie films. The inside of the the theater is beautiful so that doesn't hurt too.

Thank goodness for theaters like this. Here you find interesting movies, foreign and domestic films, that cater to adults who appreciate films not made for teenagers. Comfortable seating in a nicely restored Art Deco setting with good sound and digital projection. Wine and beer available as well. A treasure to have in Brookline/Boston area.
