Wonderful grounds for walking. Stop off at the park ranger's office/ gift shop and view a very informative video then set out exploring and thinking how it was years ago. The grounds are keep up very nice. I am sure the kids will love running...More

The history of our country is amazing and there is so much of it to explore. This was a great place to visit and learn a lot about the Civil War era.

For War of 1812 buffs - this was built to defend Washington, DC from the British. However its maintenance has been neglected for several years. Nice views of the Potomac River and Washington Monument.

It is mostly accessible by wheelchair. There are some steep inclines and pebbly surfaces but vehicles can get close and park next to most attractions - better to drive between different sections of park than to use... More
