I live locally and while I love the beaches down here, Tybee has a lot of tourists. Which is great, if you're a tourist. For a more local, laid back trip I prefer to go down to St Simons.

I think they need a boardwalk or something. you have to leave the beach to find places to eat. Other people visiting the beach were very friendly I liked that...

You have to park, walk to the meter to pay, then put the ticket in your car. Don't try to park without paying because we were there on a Sunday and the "parking patrol people" were driving around checking to make sure that the parked...More

We loved lazing on the beach in Tybee. It was relaxing and the water was perfect! Would highly recommend renting chairs, an umbrella and bring a cooler with beverages! PS a couple of tips: no glass or cans allowed on the beach (bring plastic cups)...More

I agree with conrad. Get there early, parking will be hard to come by all over town.
