We spent a few hours at the beach and enjoyed a picnic, the pier, and wading in the ocean. Parking was nearby, but might be considered costly by some. There is access to get change if needed. Watch the time if you plan to spend a brief time there. I have been there a couple of more times and plan... More

Very clean and beautiful spot. We didn't have any trouble with loud partying from others. It's very close (about 20 minutes) to Savannah to do more exploring there when you want to do a little exploring.

Went to North End. Had a great day on the beach, lovely walking and nature, saw many animals.

First of all, carry bags of quarters for the parking meters. Then carry some extra quarters because the machines will rip you off. I'm surprised they don't make you pay into parking meters at traffic lights, they're everywhere else! I woke up many times during the night, afraid that I forgot to put quarters into the parking meter by my... More

Took the coastal regional shuttle from Savannah. We picked it up from the trolley/savannah visitor center on MLK blvd. A round trip ride cost $6 per person. Hours leaving and coming back were not the greatest but with no car made the best of it. We got dropped off at the pier and walked about 10 min. to Fat Tire... More

Tybee is one of the most active spots in the South during the Summer and why we make our short trip there during the off season. First stop, Fort Pulaski, then across the road to the Crab Shack (fun fun and decent food, but go for the laid back nature and fun of the place), then off to the beach... More

As beaches go, not much to say. It has a pier to fish off of, some vendors for food and drinks, entertainment on the pier in summer, with a local/ novice feel to the performances.. Parking meters, and kind of a dismal feel to the whole experience.

We've been vacationing in Savannah for 25 years and we always head out to Tybee to visit the ocean at least one day each trip. However, if I wanted a beach vacation....it wouldn't be a week at Tybee. If you go on weekends, the parking is a nightmare. To get a close spot near the pier you have to circle... More

the front side of tybee is great for being amid the summer crowds but we love the back beach on the river....the kids hunt for hermit crabs in the tide pools and we can relax without the crowds.
