It fits well for any type of situation. If you want to take a long walk along the river or visit the small shops alongside the river. We went there in the morning. Streets were empty which I enjoy. We encouraged few street artists by buying stuff from them. Took a boat ride from waving girl dock to westin and... More

The walk along the river is nice, with the views of the old cotton warehouses along the street and signs along the way to explain the history of the area. There are several good resaurants overlooking the riverfront. The shops are mostly tourist type shops, with a few nicer art galleries mixed in. Go mostly for the experience, not so... More

Lots of restaurants and shops...plenty for everyone! It is fun to not only shop, but see the freighters coming down the Savannah River.

This is a great hotel! I've stayed a number of times. Central to everything, rooms with River Front Views. The restaurant has a great deck overlooking River Street, and serves up an amazing breakfast in the bar! Old world charm, and a little spooky if you let your mind wander, and if you read about the history of Savannah, you... More

Roll back the calendar to the 1800s for the scenic River area. Also you need to go buy some freshly made pecan and chocolate treats from the chocolate shop on the River road. You do have to go down a bunch of old stairs to get to the River Street but it is well worth it.
