The gravestones are so old it is quite amazing and worth a look. The trees with Spanish moss really create a spooky setting.

Many of the crypts and tombstones are very, very old - on some, we could not even make out the date as it had worn away. But we enjoyed gaining historical knowledge from informative plaques on a number of the sites.
Cemetery tours not for everybody, but it was extremely interesting to see how old some of these graves were. Lots of historical markers throughout makes for easy self-guided exploration.

Beautiful old cemetery dating back to colonial days. Very well maintained and graves show the history of this area.

This is older than Bonaventure Cemetery. Not so ornate but just as spectacular! The gravestones that were knocked down by Sherman have been set up against the back wall! Beautiful!!!!
