This is just a hauntingly beautiful place to go. We went on our own without a tour and we were able to find Gracie Watson’s statue on our own. This is a very old cemetery and some of the monuments have been destroyed over time and by weather. It adds to the atmosphere. If you enjoy looking at old cemeteries, this is a jewel. The tours coming by was a distraction. Alone without a group was the way we preferred to experience it.…

It was nice to do once. It is very huge. Easy to get lost in. There were parking lots further back so you could get out and walk.

It wasn't as many huge elaborate monuments as some make it seem. It was huge cemetery and beautiful grounds with some interesting sites. We drove all around the cemetery rather than parking. We did not get a tour guide. It was something worth driving through. Don't plan on being overwhelmed. …

Within the Savannah Metropolitan Area, the Bonaventure Cemetery is my top destination and a favorite to visit at all times of the day! From a photography perspective, there is no better place to visit early in the AM with it's soft lighting and Spanish moss shrouded historical tombstones. We didn't have time to take the guided tour but I would guess there is much to learn about the 'many stories' captured in this intimate setting!…
