Attended a wedding at the Basilica and it is truly a beautiful venue. Like so many places in downtown baltimore parking is a problem, but since we were shuttled from our hotel, this was not an issue for us.

Beautiful. Well worth the traffic. Parking is a bit of a sketchy area. Do not forget to go downstairs below the church. Gift shop was closed for inventory.

Designed by Latrobe who also designed many other great American buildings. Recently restored to its original appearance--surprisingly light and airy inside

This is an absolutely amazing church to visit. We were extremely lucky that it was nearly empty and found a gentleman to show us the small museum downstairs. That was a true highlight of the visit. It is usually reserved for reserved parties.

The church itself does not have parking however there are 2 garages close by. We opted to park on a side street and use metered parking

I agree, although it is not far from the Amtrak station, since you are not familiar with Baltimore, a cab would be your best and safest bet.
